Our second in-house tournament is set for this Tuesday Feb 7th, starting promptly at 6:30pm. Please arrive early for warm up, latecomers risk being defaulted from their group.

Just a reminder to our club members to bring in your annual membership dues. To decrease the paperwork, we'll have copies of last year's membership forms at the club and if necessary can update any information. If you are interested in joining the club, you can download the membership application, fill it out, and bring it in with payment on any club night.
Rick would like to start a once-a-month "STTC only" round robin night. Open play will still be available. He plans to have (3) small round robins. Round robins would be seeded into classes A, B & C. No rating points are won or lost for individual matches; however, the winner of each class round robin will be awarded bonus rating points. |

Our mini-tournament for club members on Tuesday, 11/15, was a big success. We had 18 players competing in three classes! Congratulations to the following winners:
Class A: 1st - Rick Goertz, 2nd - Jiming Cheng
Class B: 1st - James Embalabala, 2nd - Sandeep Sheth
Class C: 1st - Subir Brahma, 2nd - Shekar Brahma |

The Champaign Table Tennis Club is hosting their Lunar New Year Tournament on Sat 02/04. (download the entry form) Let's try to get a good number of our members over there to play, as the CCTTC makes an effort to play in our tournaments. I believe this is CCTTC's first tournament, and the club was formed only about a year ago. Make sure you contact Bryant if you want to play in this tournament, it's only 2 weeks away!
The 23rd Annual Hillsboro Table Tennis Open is on Sat 02/25. Always a great way to play a lot of matches, with the opening round robin and doubles event. Plus it's not too far away and maybe we can make it three years in a row going to the Chinese Buffet for dinner afterwards!
I hear that the Mt. Pulaski tournament may be at the end of March. This is another nice tournament run in the same style as other local tournaments. The Lindenwood April Open is also the last weekend in March (03/31-04/01) for those of you looking for a sanctioned tournament.
Our STTC Spring Open will be on Saturday, April 14th. We'll post more details about our tournament soon.

Our International Women's Day event was an overwhelming success. Rick submitted an article and picture to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and as a result our event was featured on the ITTF website!
