Though not huge, at 31 entries, this was the largest turnout ever for an STTC tournament. Very few complaints and tons of compliments made this event feel like a huge success. I will have to admit that most of the compliments were about the food (thanks Roberta)! I am proud of our guys killing so many of the events. We have never had such club participation, including our tournaments from several years ago.Way to go STTC!
Newsworthy STTC newcomer, Tommy Lord, came in and helped set up for the tournament. We gave him a t-shirt for his labor, then he got greedy. Tommy took 1st in the Junior event, proceeded to the main event and earned 2nd in Class C Singles, then grabbed someone he never met before and stole 2nd place in Class B Doubles. Don't forget he just started playing competitivly a few months ago. He even stayed afterwards to help clean up the mess. Way to go Tommy..... |
