STTC Members Do Well At Mt. Pulaski Tournament PDF Print E-mail

This past Saturday, March 27th, several STTC players competed at the tournament in nearby Mt. Pulaski and they did well in every event!

Robert won 1st place in Class C Singles! James won 2nd place in Class B Singles! Rick won 1st place in Class A Singles and 1st place in Doubles! Rick partnered with Mohammed Zaman from Bloomington, IL.

Congratulations and nice job everyone!

Reminder: the STTC 2010 Spring Open is on Saturday, April 10th. That's in just a couple weeks, so send in your entry form soon!

STTC will be hosting its annual Spring Open Tournament on Saturday, April 10th, 2010. Download the entry form. (PDF format)


STTC 2010 Spring Open Tournament Information

Date: Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Location: 501 South Douglas, Springfield, IL (map)

Time:
 9:00am  Juniors
 9:00am  Seniors
10:30am  Singles (class A, B & C)

Doubles will start directly after singles.

Note: Players not present when match is called will be defaulted.

Cost: Singles $10, Doubles $5, Juniors, $5, Seniors $10 (please make checks payable to STTC)

Deadline for entry: April 9th, 2010 - 6:00pm (you may sign up for doubles at the event)

Events:
Junior Singles (age 19 & below)
Senior Singles (50 & above)
Class A Singles
Class B Singles
Class C Singles
Class A Doubles (Open)
Class B Doubles (No Class A players)

Placement in classes will be at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director, based largely on USATT ratings. All events are round robin. Matches are best of 5 games. The Tournament Director reserves the right to change format to best accommodate the number of entries.

Prizes: Prize money totaling $250.

STTC wins 5-on-5 vs. HTT PDF Print E-mail

This last Thursday night, the Hillsboro Table Tennis players came to the club to play STTC in the ongoing 5-on-5 traveling cup challenge. STTC came out on top, winning 16 matches to HTT's 9. Mike Plunkett of Hillsboro outpaced all the players that night, going 5-0. STTC takes back the cup this time and will have to defend it when the two clubs meet again...

The 5-on-5 vs. Hillsboro Table Tennis is this Thursday night, Feb. 18th, hosted by the STTC. Come watch our best 5 take on their best 5! STTC won the trophy last May; Hillsboro took it back at the end of Summer; who will claim it this time?

The STTC 2010 Spring Tournament is coming in April, check back to this site for more information as we finalize details for the tournament. Plans are in the works for more prizes, and as always we'll have excellent and affordable food available at the tournament site.
